Christening Lady Hanneke Wijnne Barends

On Saturday 14 September the newbuilding of Wijnne Barends was christened. The baptism was performed by Mrs. Hanneke Nijhoff-Faber, spouse of former director Mr. M.C. Nijhoff. She gave building number 248 her name: “Lady Hanneke”. The ceremony took place in the port of Delfzijl. More than 300 guests were pressent at the naming ceremony.
“Lady Hanneke” is built in India. She has a load capacity of over 4,200 tons and a length of 98 meters. It meets the increased environmental requirements that apply to new-build vessels (Tier III standard). “Lady Hanneke” is the first of six new ships of this type.
